It's 2:41 A.M. My head isn't feeling its best. I never used to wait until the last minute to write my weekly emails.... until I started working on this damn product. I had a half-written sneak peek promo of a feature I was excited about sharing this week... but I already did that last week, and I want to mix it up. So instead, at this insane hour, after an incredibly emotional day for me and my family (in a GREAT way), I’m sitting up wondering...
Selling a Solution, Not Just a ProductFor anyone who hasn’t sold a product yet: I offer this advice: Don’t sell a product. Sell a solution. The product is just the delivery vehicle. If you try to build a product instead of a solution, you’ll bump your head for a long time. At least I did. When I designed this tool, I had mostly creators and bloggers in mind, so a lot of features will make sense to you intuitively--the workshops that are included, the templates, the prompts, the guides, some of the features like the ones I sneak peeked last week, and more. All of these things are a part of the product itself and are accessed with the initial purchase of the product (plus special deals, early access, etc. to past CG customers, so stay tuned). However, some benefits/results can only be achieved by using the product. There is a big difference between the things we purchase and the things we use. I want to demonstrate that by sharing the first of my 3 discovery moments in which I realized using my product provided an unexpected benefit, one I may not have experienced without committed use. Before I get into the first discovery moment, here is a quick word from this week's sponsor:
Here is my first discovery from using this product for a long time: Favorite Discovery #1: "I don't have a lack of commitment. I have a lack of awareness."Using this product helped me discover how committed I actually was to my goals. It's easy to get down on yourself over a day or two of missing something (work, deadlines, etc.), but when you're able to zoom out and get a wider perspective, sometimes you realize how much you've truly given to something on a more macro level. Reflection can be powerful in this way. Oftentimes I find I'm being way too hard on myself, which ends up hindering my progress by using even more of my mental energy because I let one bad day spiral into multiple. This has also caused a pattern of "fleeing" from certain activities, but meditation taught me the concept of "beginning again." Thankfully I've made a lot of progress in this area over the last year as I've faced an absolute mountain of building this brand new product from scratch. The point is that over time, I realized I WAS committed to things--I just wasn't aware of what I was committed to. Once it was right in front of my face, the clarity was really powerful. Often, when I need to refresh, I'll browse around my vault's graph view (example below) and I'll look at what I have been working on to see where my attention has been. (Each of the little nodes is an individual note note and when you hover over it, it tells you what the note is and what other notes it's connected to.) Even this graph view (again macro view) tells me something else I didn't really know about myself: I'm a committed writer (because each of these notes is linked to my individual written notes). That's something I never would have said about myself before this experience. Even with gaps as long as 7-33 days, I still managed to write over 4,000+ notes since starting my system and building this. The awareness of how much I'd done allowed me to have a healthier relationship with my work and make it fun again. With continued use, I find this happening more and more. This new product I'm working on will be ready for you SOOOOON. I'm just making the final tweaks on it as well as prepping launch emails, finalizing the new website design, creating landing pages, and all the other fun stuff that comes with a product launch. I can't wait to share it all with you! Next week, I'll share my next discovery and unexpected benefit of using this new product! |

Let’s talk about that moment in the creator's journey that feels... kinda embarrassing. That “WTF am I doing with my content” stage. You know — the part where you’re writing blog posts, staying busy, publishing stuff, maybe even getting some traffic, but deep down it feels like you’re aimlessly throwing content at the wall and praying something sticks. Two creators in our group said it perfectly: “I started making content but I feel like I have no sense of direction in the monetization of my...
Hey there! Over the last couple of weeks, I've been sharing a couple of discoveries of unexpected benefits of the new product that I'm working on for our audience, CreatorOS. I've talked about... Creating solutions (rather than products), how a lack of awareness does NOT mean a lack of commitment, and how to rethink about the work that you cannot see (and therefore the progress you are making). Today, I want to share my third and final discovery with you! Before I share that discovery, here...
Hey there! Last week, I shared one of my favorite discovery moments and unexpected benefits from using this new product that I'm about to launch! In case you aren't up to speed, I'm working on an AI data automation and project management tool just for creators. As I stated before: My vision for the new product for Create and Go was to make a system that would make running a business and being a creator as easy and efficient as possible. This new product is almost finished, so I'm just sharing...
