Discovering the work you cannot see 👀

Hey there! Last week, I shared one of my favorite discovery moments and unexpected benefits from using this new product that I'm about to launch!

In case you aren't up to speed, I'm working on an AI data automation and project management tool just for creators.

As I stated before:

My vision for the new product for Create and Go was to make a system that would make running a business and being a creator as easy and efficient as possible.

This new product is almost finished, so I'm just sharing some extra sneak peeks and discoveries with you in the weeks leading up to launch!

Before we get into this week's discovery, here's a quick word from this week's sponsor:

Favorite Discovery #2: Emergence is all around us, but data management tools allow us to visualize and observe it better in our own lives.

What did I just say there?

Emergence is a concept from physics and other areas of life that I can probably foolishly simplify to the "sudden-like" appearance of something.

I think you know what the word generally means, but I say "sudden-like" because it is, in all reality, sudden to most people.

But the emergency of thoughts, feelings, and sentiments can often be missed without close attention. Some people just have better intuition than others (or education, awareness, etc.).

Some examples of things that are "emergent" in nature include:

  • Temperature
  • Habits
  • Compounding Interest
  • The Plateau of Latent Potential
  • Emergent Properties in AI (I also refer to as Emergent Behavior)

Really anything that comes from what seems like atomic or minuscule inputs is vaguely "emergent" in description.

I like the way Confucius refers to it in "the investigation of things." He calls it "the work others cannot see."

The work that we often cannot see adds up. The fruits of this unseen labor can take MUCH longer than you might think to develop, but sometimes this also causes everything to "fall into place" at once. The interesting thing is that it doesn't all just "click" or "work" one day. It's usually the culmination of months or even years of effort--the snowball effect, if you will.

Tools like this new one I'm developing, CreatorOS (and other thought tools it was inspired by like Obsidian, Notion, Building a Second Brain, and more), provide an added benefit in that they allow you to see a better representation of how you're doing in real-time.

This tool helps you see what's been there all along, the person you have always been, and the potential you've always had.

It's literally a record of how we spend our time! That means that despite the imposter syndrome or limiting beliefs we may have about ourselves, it will remind us we're doing better than we think.

Sometimes, it's the wake-up call we need when we HAVEN'T been showing up.

For example, I was meditating for a while. But even after taking TWO MONTHS off last year and only ever doing a 10-15 minute session a couple of times a day, I somehow emerged a "meditator" according to these stats (491 sessions and 222 days!).

I don't usually make bold claims of myself like this and had you asked me before, I definitely wouldn't have identified as a "meditator," but the data shows me otherwise.

Even better, after realizing how much progress I made last year, I lightened up on trying to make up for missing those two months and now I'm on a 23-day streak. #cookie🍪 and a win for me.

Today, consider all the work you've been doing that maybe you can't see.

Give yourself some credit and have some faith that you're on the right path and that your efforts will bear fruit in time. 🍇

Let’s talk about that moment in the creator's journey that feels... kinda embarrassing. That “WTF am I doing with my content” stage. You know — the part where you’re writing blog posts, staying busy, publishing stuff, maybe even getting some traffic, but deep down it feels like you’re aimlessly throwing content at the wall and praying something sticks. Two creators in our group said it perfectly: “I started making content but I feel like I have no sense of direction in the monetization of my...

Hey there! Over the last couple of weeks, I've been sharing a couple of discoveries of unexpected benefits of the new product that I'm working on for our audience, CreatorOS. I've talked about... Creating solutions (rather than products), how a lack of awareness does NOT mean a lack of commitment, and how to rethink about the work that you cannot see (and therefore the progress you are making). Today, I want to share my third and final discovery with you! Before I share that discovery, here...

It's 2:41 A.M. My head isn't feeling its best. I never used to wait until the last minute to write my weekly emails.... until I started working on this damn product. I had a half-written sneak peek promo of a feature I was excited about sharing this week... but I already did that last week, and I want to mix it up. So instead, at this insane hour, after an incredibly emotional day for me and my family (in a GREAT way), I’m sitting up wondering... Why is my life so much better now? Why am I so...
